I got my *NEW* V2 kit this past weekend (great!).

I ordered it black, as I like the combination of black-red-yellow, so, I started by painting the pieces accordingly.

As you can see on the pictures, this paint work was done at night ;-)

It is so exciting building a new kit again, after so many advances since the original one!.

I was pretty miffed with myself when I realised I'd forgotten the paint job halfway through our build :(

Installing the Motor Dampers (from Tricklaser ;-) )
With and without damper
With and without damper
See the difference between the two motors
The motor with the damper is "higher"
The motor with the damper is "higher"
To compensate the width added by the dampers, you will need to place the Hobbed gear not aligned, as Geneb's manual indicates, but a little up.

Pulley perfectly aligned with the belt path (I jumped some steps ahead!)

Be sure to place the damper in the screw, as well as washer, (first washer, then damper)

This is the gap that has to be left to compensate the width of the dampers. If not, then the pulley will not be aligned with the belt.

This close or is OK? :-)

That is looking great Art! Mine is scheduled to show up on Monday. Of course it just missed the weekend. I'm evaluating a stand to place it on. Would you mind throwing a tape measure on your base and giving me the dimensions?

By the way we are definitely fairly close considering 99 opened up. We need to meet up one day and fly or print or both. Keep the excellent build pics coming as I can use all the help I can get.

I'm still trying to decide on which LEDs to use for mine but I chose a similarly loud colour scheme ;) http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php ... 8&start=40

Today is Monday, so, chances are you already have your kit!

I am at work right now, so, cannot provide the measures, sorry. I guess when get back home, at night, you already had figured out the space. However, I you do not need a big space to work, including the printer. By guessing, I think it would fit in a 2ft x 2ft square. Maybe 1.5ft x 1.5ft :-)

Spoiler Alert: I just finished the build, but need to keep up uploading all the photos!

Sure, we could meet, print and fly (FPV print??) :-)

Yours look nice! a couple of LEDs would make it even great. I like the blue-ish color of the Ultimaker on the layer fans, and something else, maybe purple? in the towers. Will see.

I have a V1 in Acrylic, I was thinking in upgrading it to V2, but then I decided that it looks great the way it is, so, I will leave it alone. A old pic: http://forum.seemecnc.com/download/file ... &mode=view

It had changed a little, but the acrylic part is the same :-)

BTW, I added headsinks to the steppers, and saw that you did the same, great!. My question is: do you put some headsinks to anything else than the steppers drivers?

Thanks

So far, no, I haven't put any heatsinks on any other part of the machine. I'm currently testing out a hypothesis with the extruder stepper motor itself but I'll let you know if it pans out.

Good to know, let me know!

On the other hand, my Rostock Max V1, has a lot of heat seated on the Rambo due to multiple reasons:

1.- No Fan at all!
2.- Due to a switched piece during the build (I need to rebuild the entire rostock to fix it!), doesn't even have a "hole" in the back, so, all heat is seated in it.
3.- I usually I print outside the printing bed so I need a little more "grip power" on the stepper motors, which made me increase the current for the steppers,
4.- PLUS large prints +15 hours.

Still, I get very good prints out of it!

I am guessing that, once I reduce all the heat factor, the print quality should increase and get even better :-)

I will be able to compare V1 vs V2, and see what happens :-)

Ok, it is time to keep going!

The next step was the printing bed, I tried to put the cables the most organized way I could.

I liked the V3, with the new LED to indicate the Hot End is working, sweet.
