Hi,

after I finished my built I want to "upgrade" my RMv2 a little.

First what I ordered is a new Hotend E3D V6 with .3 Nozzle for fine prints.

Now I´m wondering if it is a good idea to change the stock 1.8° steppers to 0.9° ones.
But searching for the Motors I recognized they have all different Voltage specs.

Which Voltage I have to choose??

Which one can I use? This: 42BYGHM607 ?

Changing it to 0.9° Motors will increase accuarcy? Better for fineprints?

The issue going to 0.9 steppers, is the electronics, they have to provide twice the pulses for the same speed, and the little arduino driving the printer is already stressed by the delta calculations.
There was someone on here who did the conversion, then pulled them off until he got a smoothie board to replace the RAMBO.

My guess is any improvement halting the step size would probably be marginal anyway.

You want steppers in the 3V range, with a maximum current rating something over 2A if you want to match the existing motors as much as possible, you can probably get away with smaller steppers on XY and Z, but not on the extruder.

Will go one with the 1.8° ones. Maybe later I will give it a try...

The 0.9 motors I use have a limit of 2.4 Amps. I wrote some code into the smoothieware to test movement repeatability with the z-probe, and I didn't get it where I was rarely missed steps until I put the full 2.4 A on them. This also required moving from a smoothieboard to the Azteeg X5 so the drivers could push the amps.
