Hello,
Did somebody successfully updated the Orion firmware to .91 using a OSX (10.6.8)? If yes - please let me know it. I get always a time out error. But the connection for a print via USB is working fine....
Upgrade to .91 with OSX
Re: Upgrade to .91 with OSX
Timeout error for what?
I just installed 91 on rostock max v2 from mac os x.

When on mobile I am brief and may be perceived as an arsl.

Re: Upgrade to .91 with OSX
Hello,
Here is my complete config:
OSX 10.9.4
Repetier Host MAC 0.56
Arduino 1.05
Orion: FW 0.83
My settings within Repetier Host:
Port: usbmodem411
Baud rate: 250000
Stop bits: 1
Parity: None
Transfer: Autodetect
Cache Size: 127
There is no problem to connect to the Orion Printer via Repetier Host. I can get the z_max info and I changed the values within the configuration.h file.
My setting within Arduino 1.05 are:
Board: Arduino Mega 2560 or MEGA ADK
Serial Port: /dev/tty.usbmodem411
Programmer: AVRISP mkII
The next step is to upload the "eeprom_clear" and this does not work at all. I always get the following error messages:
avrdude: stk500v2_ReceiveMessage(): timeout
avrdude: stk500v2_ReceiveMessage(): timeout communicating with programmer
I think the only setting I've changed within Arduino is the one for the serial port. Everything else should be standard. Maybe one of the setting is wrong and/or something on the Orion printer avoids the update....
Best regards
Dietmar

Have a look inside if the other end of the usb is connected properly.
On arduino you have to select 2 things.
Port and device.
Device is mega.
Look at the port. Then connet printerand see what appears. Select the appropriate one.
If not try another usb cable. Or your rambo may be shnazzy.

Hello,
The usb cable works fine -- I can without any problem connect to the printer and send him files for a print job.
The selected device within Arduino is: Arduino Mega 2560
Port: /dev/tty.usbmodem411
Whilst searching in the internet I've found some postings with the same "avrdude stk500v2...." time out problem. I've tried some of the work arounds, but no success at all. I've also tried to update the firmware via a window XP system and I get the same error......
