Hello from the High Desert
Hello from the High Desert
I just took the plunge and ordered a R Max 2, after lurking and reading up here for the last couple of weeks I figured it was about time. This forum is amazing, I couldn't find another printer with this level of support and community. If nothing else the wealth of information here makes the R Max a steal. being new to 3D printing it's a comfort to know there's such a wonderful resource I can turn to for help. I have read the assembly manual twice, not only was it very comprehensive but it was also entertaining, reminded me of American Science and Surplus's catalogs a bit. Other manufactures should take note, the support forum and manual is what rely sold me on the printer.

Geneb is a great guy for putting that manual together (really, ALL of the manuals, the several iterations) and you'll come to know and love his posts here on the forum.
Just keep an eye open for posts about any problems you might encounter with your build. I personally had an issue where I kept shorting a fuse because I hadn't made sure my hotend fans were wired safely.
Welcome and I hope you have a great time with your Rostock!

If at first you don't succeed, you're doing something wrong. Try again, and if it fails again, try once more. Through trial and error, one can be the first to accomplish something great.

Thank you for the welcomes! Tracker says it will be here Tuesday, all the accessories have been trickling in over the last week, heat spreader, better Rambo fan, connecters etc. The waits been driving my son nuts! He was the real catalyst for my purchase. He noticed me checking out printers on the web and offered to give me his can money (he has been saving all summer) because "they are rely expensive dad and we rely need to get one". He has already downloaded a slew of stl. files in preparation. 3d printing has replaced Legos and Xbox for the last week. Now if I go down stairs in the middle of the night and catch him on the computer he's watching 3d printing videos on youtube instead of Lego un-boxing or game walk through videos.
