A Bunch of questions

Looking into buying a h-1 kit(elecetronics everything) and i have a lot of questions. Most of which are probaly dumb. Any 1 is do i need special drivers to use it with mach3? 2. I see in the assembly manual that you have to put the plastic pieces on the rod, is the rods only threaded in certain places? Becuase it doesn't tell you how far apart every thing should be. 3. It uses abs right? But it doesn't come with a standard heatbed, does it make a difference? I am a complete noob when it comes to 3d printers and have been trying to get into them ..

you need a computer with a parallel port running 32bit windows
Its pretty easy to figure out while assembling, you pretty much keep the plastic clamps somewhat loose so you can tweak it before fully tightening..
Heated bed does help but is not needed.. if you watch when steve from seemecnc broadcasts his prints he has been printing with abs without a heated bed for a long time. I made my own heated bed and love it.. but its totally possible to print without one, but you can have some warping.....
hope this helps...

Male sure you get the build document in our docs, it should make things a lot clearer when doing the build and dimensions are shown where they are important. Don't forget to do the modifications to the driver board.

I never ran the machine without the mods.. I did it as part of my build since it was easy.. from everything I have read, without the mods you can get skewed prints and inconsistancy, so I would suggest it.

Ok and i saw some videos on others h-1s and some said they were missing some parts, is this common or is it a rare occurrence?

The H-1 kit I received a couple on months ago had no missing parts. I think the quality control in packing the kits has improved over time.

Hi, i had a couple of bearings missing from my kit, the team at seemecnc were very quick to rectify this by sending me what i needed and also giving me an upgrade of metal bearings free of charge, excellent customer service

YES! I had the machine running (original kit from January), it worked ok, but to get the level of precision I wanted, I had to upgrade the carriage bearings, idler rollers bearings and add a heated bed.

Hi, what are you using for the idler bearing upgrade (608 bearings with an insert) ? Having major issues with a tight y axis, its slides easily without the belt attached but is really tight with it

I use R4A-2RS bearings, they are a near perfect fit/replacement for the machines plastic idlers with no insert, just have to align the bearing on the #10-32 bolt or replace it with common 1/4-20 bolts, (which I did on the X axis after a little while).

From my experience the tightness may be the idlers not rolling easily (to help/fix add a few drops of 3-in-1 oil to the inner races) or the belt is over tightened. The belt should have some give when you press on it, mine is tightened enough to allow for 1/4"-3/8" deflection.

I run mach 3 in windows 7... you just have to use 32 bit version.. cant use 64.. no special driver, just parallel port..

From what I can tell you will not be able to get Windows 7 64bit working with Mach3, but Windows 7 32bit might work??
I put together an older machine running Windows XP+Mach3+3-Axis controller, then I realized how much I disliked Windows XP and went down the Arduino+Repetier+Windows 7 route.
