Onyx bed Tee nut dropped out.

Post by RegB »

Bahh,
I had to take the RamBo board out for a troubleshooting reason.
Tricky thing to get back, so I took the Onyx bed off, this wasn't the first time I had to do this so I know that getting those tabs up into their slots is easier with the onyx and snowflake slipped back a couple of inches.

On reassembly the Onyx screw near the Y tower wouldn't find its nut, then "clink" and a LONG silence as the significance sank in.

Tip;
Take off whatever side panels and acrylic panels you have to.
Find the wretched Tee nut, don't use a new one, get the old one OUT of there.
Thread a length of filament down the screw hole.
Make sure the path back to the hole is clear of wiring, you will NOT want to trap a wire under a Tee nut.
Get a screw, screwdriver and nylon spacer ready.
Thread the nut onto the filament with its teeth facing up.
Get the nut to the end of the filament and follow it back to the hole with a finger tip as you pull the filament back.
This is TRICKY, but you want to finish with the nut balanced on the end of a finger, it might take more than one try.
When the filament is clear get the screw, screwdriver and nylon spacer involved - THIS TIME TIGHTEN IT - and THEN SOME.

Mine had been tight, that is to say I torqued the other 5 down and they were already tight.
Yeah, I know, maybe I was a bit sloppy on just that ONE.
