part fan

I am trying to finish up my Max. I downloaded the part layer fan zip file but when I go to open it, zip says its an invalid file. Where can I get this file from instead? I have downloaded other layer fans, but the mounting tabs are too far apart.
Thanks. Mike

I encountered the same problem where the file was just a random string of alphanumeric gibberish. I just renamed the part to fan_shroud.stl manually and it worked fine from there

Judging by comments on the download page this has happened to others.

Maybe SeeMeCNC or whoever manages the download page can re-upload the file.

Are you using a mac or do you have file extensions turned off? Seems like your OS is forgetting that it's an .stl for some reason...

Thanks!

I was about to draw my own. Printed and installed it last night.

Trying it now and it's helping quite a bit with the stringing.

Naw, I had the same problem with Windows. Windows just calls it a "file" and it doesn't have an extension - it's just a string of alphanumeric characters that the computer can't recognise.

Editting the name to "xxxx.stl" works in fixing the problem.
