Hi guys, i was removing the hot end nozzle fan since it's said that its just needed for PLA and I'm using ABS and I think it messed up a print because I wasn't able to get it tightly mounted to the hot end and I think it grabbed some filament on the build platform and got all gummed up.
As I was monkeying with it I accidentally pulled the wires loose (just spliced and taped, no connector) and I'm pretty sure I shorted the hot to ground and Voila! My Rambo board is now dead.
Here's the data:
1) brand new Rostock Max V2
2) Still have 12V going to the Rambo board from the PS
3) Fuse is still good
4) Rambo board and display are dead as door nails, no lights, no nothing, the only thing working is the fan on the Rambo board.
Am I looking at replacing the board? Unless its simple to repair all the surface mount stuff on the board makes it out of my repair skill set.
I think I just killed my Rambo board
Re: I think I just killed my Rambo board
A little research ad troubleshooting indicates I've blown F3.

There are multiple fuses. Check the diagram closely to find the other ones that are smaller and blend in with the other surface mounted components.
Edit: Good research, I'm late to the party
Test that one and replace it.

1. NEVER work on the printer with the power on.
2. Leave the PEEK fan in place - even if you're printing with ABS, it should be running.
3. The layer fan doesn't interfere with printing and you can keep it turned off if you're printing ABS, so there's no reason to physically remove it.

Turns out it was F3, a parts order from Mouser and we are running again.
