A thread (topic) about threads (nuts, bolts, screws)..

OK, setting aside for the moment that they are HARD to generate in (freeware) CAD/CAM...
What is your experience with PRINTING bolt, nut & screw threads ?
I accept that this might be "fine detail", so the gullets won't be super sharp and the peaks will be a bit rounded over, but what have you managed to print good enough to fit standard hardware store steel nuts and bolts ?
How small ?
& how did you manage to do that ?
I am playing around right now with a 3/8 - 16 socket head bolt, which isn't "small", using a 0.5 nozzle.
The results would probably be good enough if I ran a die around it, I'm just wondering what success others have had.
