Orion to Rostock Max V2 Pics

Post by Holy1 »

Hi, I was outgrowing my Orion so decided to build a Max V2 instead of converting the Orion. The reason for the post is show others who are considering an Orion or Max the actual size difference. When buying the Orion I was a little overwhelmed with the thought of build the Rostock Max from a kit so I stayed with the Orion. The build is easy and straight forward thanks to the great manual and precision cut parts by SeeMeCNC. I'm glad I didn't hack up the Orion to make a single bigger printer. Now I have 2 and cost wise the 2 combined are still cheaper then a Makerbutt 5th generation.

Did you ever feel the need to build a case around the printer? (assuming you have printed in ABS) I haven't received my order yet (MAX) and I'm already thinking about building a case in case I need it. My fear is the "de-lamination" I hear so much about. I'll need to have a very strong "platform" that support a lot of weight with my 3D printed objects and I cannot risk failures.
scooter it.
