So I made a little mistake

I managed to install the top plate upside down; if I install the extruder on the left side then the hole for the filament will be behind the mounting bracket. It looks like I have three choices, drill a new hole for the filament on the left side, flip the extruder around in the mounting bracket and install it on the right side, or completely dismantle the top end of my machine and flip the plate over. I would really prefer not to do the third option as I have already wired everything and installed the belts. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I did the same thing. I just drilled a new hole for the filament to pass through. I am printing a guide for the filament right now so it goes through better.

Awesome! That seems like that will be the easiest fix.

no need to drill anything... .mount the extruder like this..

its the way I buld them here, and leave the feed hole right above the extruder..
your extruder will be between your X and your Z tower, and the filament will be at the top left and feed right down into it.... will work fine

I did the same thing and just feed my filament around the outside of the machine. works 100% fine!

I put the extruder in the mount backwards so the hole in the plate was on the wrong side. Or the top plate was put on backwards. Either adding an additional hole on the other side of the mounting location or pokey yoke features so it only goes in way would be my suggestion. It's fixable.
