Hey all,

I wanted to try multiple nozzles printing, using different sizes for the nozzles (typically for a fine and smooth ouside perimeter, but a fast and fat inside filling.

In repetier host, I could only choose the same nozzle settings for all extruders; and in MatterControl, I was not able to find any multiple extruders option.

Does anyone have any advice ?

I will reply my own question, in case it can help anyone.

These settings are directly inside slicer configuration.

The number of extrudders are set in the general tab of the printer section, and one can set everything there.

The remaining question is how repetier host and slic3r actually cohabitate if I select one extruder for one object in repetier, but slic3rs setting give a different extrudder for perimeters and filling... which one overides the other? I'll have to experiment.

Slic3r or your slicing program will determine which hotend gets used at any given time; the host program just runs the code. If you use a small nozzle for perimeters and a huge nozzle for infill, you can get fast prints that are very detailed. You can also print a core of rigid plastic like ABS and then print it's surface with something rubberized, or something with low friction like nylon, or something that glows in the dark ect.

If your nozzles are offset in the firmware and also offset in the slicing program, you may have problems.
