Help with power supply

Post by ericpudding »

I'm building the kit right now and I skipped over the part of readying the power supply. The guide said I need 6 yellow and 6 black wires but I only have 5 yellow wires from cutting off what looked like the 12V wires. Does anybody have a more in depth guide of setting up the power supply? The picture they have for the Rambo power connector, I can only see 5 yellow and 5 black wires. I'm just quite confused on if i need 5 or 6 of the wires.

Every yellow wire goes to the same place and every black wire goes to the same place, so you can take wires from multiple bundles to get what you need.

There is the big bunch of wires and then few black and yellow wires that coupled together. I used most of them and I think I had to pull a wire or two out of the big bunch. Make sure you get the correct wires for the power switch also. Theya re in the big bunch of wires.

You also want to remove the connectors from the wires, not the wires from the connectors. Thats my opinion. I was confused by the entire power supply section myself.

I think what your saying is you cut too many off.....

The reason you need four of the black and four yellow is to make sure there will be enough current available, if there is not enough wires now I would still supply the one that needs four wires to it with four wires and then a pair of jumper wires from that connector to one of the other connector positions that only needs one pair of wires.

The other alternative would be to pull the PSU apart and muck with the wiring in it.
