Extruder motor problem
Whenever I'm printing something the extruder motor keeps randomly quickly jumping backwards and loud cracking like noises happen. Not really sure why this is happening because the problem occurred mid print when I increase the speed multiplier on the lcd screen.
Re: Extruder motor problem
The hotend is not hot enough. The noise is caused by the hobbed gear skipping on the filament. Try increasing the hotend 5-10 degrees.

Re: Extruder motor problem
The extruder is basically slipping from high resistance of filament feed. If you are increasing the speed, you might want to up the temp as well.
A clogged nozzle can cause the extruder to slip as well.
