Making two useless vacuums into one good one!

I had a Swiffer Vac that the batteries died in (rebuilt the pack and it lasted a little over 6 months before it too was useless) and I have a Dyson DC34. The Dyson is good for little things, but not floors. No attachments for floor use. They came out with the DC35 which does floors soon after and didn't come out with a 'floor attachment' for the DC34 which pissed me off to no end.
Anyway, I ripped the bottom off the Swiffer, got a piece of 1" PVC pipe and made myself some adapters! One from the Dyson to the pipe and the other from the pipe to Swiffer.
- I ran out of blue near the end of the print and had to splice in the white. Looks sharp, I think.
- Everything fit so smooth I almost crapped my pants.
The thing snapped right into the Dyson all nice and snug and it sucks like crazy; in the best possible way. Even the wife was impressed.

yeah. some times I do some prints for my wife too. She impressed and free Money for buying upgrades for my Rostock max to print "better" parts for my wife...

Very nice job. I love it when a plan comes together. I often have hunt around the house to see what needs " improving".

A very good idea with great execution.
Another modification using a 3d printer and design software. Very well done!

Awesome! I have a dc34 also and was planning on modeling something to attach a pipe for floors. You just saved me the trouble. Thanks!
Btw if your battery on the Dyson ever craps iut, the cheap replacements on eBay work just fine on mine.

Good to know about the battery. Haven't had any problems yet, but now that we're using the DC34 a lot more, we might find issues. If you wanted the files, I put them up on Thingiverse.

So I finally go around to printing this and it has seriously helped out around the house.
I bought a floor nozzle from
Amazon for cheap, and whipped up a simple adapter in openscad to adapt it to the PVC (STL is attached in this post, if anyone wants it.)
Now after dinner with the 3 year old, a quick vacuum of crumbs and the dining room is done. And while I have the dyson out, the living room gets a 5 minute vacuum job too. It's so quick and convenient! My floors are cleaner than ever, and they were pretty clean already.
