I know the consensus on the board is to wait and get used to the stock, before upgrading. However for this purchase the money situation is one where you use it or lose it...to my wife. So I want to get important upgrades all together, whether I install them from the beginning is a different matter.
I know I want to get the Tri Hotend (will this require an upgrade to the power supply, I've got a 750W one laying around from an old computer, and will the current system board handle it?)
Any other good upgrades I should consider?
Upgrades from stock Max v2
Re: Upgrades from stock Max v2
Search for the thread on this forum about astrosyn dampers, get those for your stepper motors. (From astroboy, the forum user).
An e3d v6 hotend is popular, since the tri hotend doesn't seem available yet.
Some people use carbon fiber delta arms, but I've heard they might not be neccesary.
A mod that I plan on doing myself soon is a smoothieboard controller to replace the Rambo. They are currently sold out tho, but you could get an Azteeg x3 [Edit: I was mistaken, it's the x5 that is based off smoothie].
Also some people run higher voltage heated beds. I don't know much about that.

The Azteeg X5 is the 32 bit controller. The X3 is AT MEGA 2560 controlled.
