Can anyone slice the 3 Heart Gears or 3 Cube Gears?

I've been trying to come up with a neat gadget print as a handout to clients and friends to show off the R Max's capability. (I'm open to suggestions).

I like Emmet's heart and cube gears as well as his transmission, but I have yet to be able to slice them with Slic3r. His STL files all seem to come in with problems ( not manifold error). Even after trying Netfabb repairs, I still get the same errors. If I allow Slic3r to slice anyway, some of the bodies disappear but the holes are sliced.

Kisslicer seems to slice it OK but I'm having different problems with running it's G-code...namely the extruder retracts the set 4mm, but does not return the 4mm to continued extruding. Like I said, that's a different issue.

I was wondering if anyone else could try his files and see how well they come into Repetier and Slic3r?

I sure would like to know it's the files and not me. The comments on Thingiverse all say they have no problems.

So have you recently done it? I know he's updated his files....

If they open OK for you, What am I doing wrong? A lot of my other downloads from Thingiverse have been fine.

Could it be a corruption in my software? I'm running Repetier v1.0.1 and Slic3r 1.1.7

yea i did the heart gears 5-6 for my wife this year.

bubbasnow, would you be willing to download the heart 5-6 and try it with Slic3r?

Not sure what happened, but I updated Repetier to 1.0.5, loaded the original STL and after 5+ minutes it sliced OK.

I wasn't expecting a 20 hour pring with a 50% in ilfil and no support....

I'll post pics (much) later tomorrow.
