Whats your cooling system for prints?

I'm curious to how other people have their setup for layer cooling. I havent had any success with a good setup for bridges and steep angles. I bought these fans (

http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:134185) but the quality didn't go up by much if any. What fans and fan mounts do you guys recommend? Any help is much appreciated.

For now i use supports. No layer fan. Only abs so far.

Try the blower fans that SeeMe sells, they move a lot mroe air than you think. There are several decent mounts and ducts on Repables.com too.

I use a single 50mm squirrel cage fan, it moves a stupid amount of air, so much that I can't start it mid print, because the 40W heater cartridge can't offset the cooling effect fast enough.

Have you tried tuning the PID loop with the cooling fan running? The heater cartridge might be able to keep up with it after that.

I did set the PID up that way, the heater copes if it's running before the print starts, which is what I usually do. I usually don;t like starting fans mid print because I can usually see the the point in the print at which it starts.
If I was really worried about it, I'd create something to direct the output closer to the extruded plastic, and wrap the Aluminum part of the hotend in silicon tape which would probably be enough to resolve it, but being lazy and it not posing a real issue for printing I just haven't gotten to it.
My only real point here is these squirrel cage fans push a lot of air, and can make a real difference in cooling over standard fans. I don't have one of the smaller blower fans from SeeMe to compare, but I would assume they are similar though probably less powerful.
