New from Southern California
New from Southern California
Hello. My name is Brendon and I just bought a Max v2. I am a CAD software developer by trade and I spend a couple days a week volunteering at my kid's high school where we have several 3D printers. I teach the kids how to program, work in CAD, build stuff, whatever it is they want to do. We have two old 3D Touch machines, a FormLabs Form 1, an AirWolf XL (which belongs to a student), and a partially finished Mendel 90 that the kids are building. I decided to buy the Rostock for myself to build and then bring it in since we don't have any delta printers and I would like the kids to learn all the different types of 3D printers if possible. My goal is to make this Max v2 a nylon printer since we already have other printers for PLA and ABS. To that end, I have ordered an E3D v6 hot end to install right off the bat. I've also purchased motor dampeners and Noctua fans. This evening I opened the box and put together the base and power supply. So far so good!

Re: New from Southern California
Welcome to the family of Max owners Brendon. If you have the chance be sure to take a few pics along the way and start a build thread. I bet many of us will enjoy watching the build and also how it goes at the school. The Max is really something to see in person and I bet the kids at the school will really love it when they see it in action. If you hit any issues I am sure someone here will have the answers if you post a question. That is one of the greatest things about being a Max owner for me and may others... Knowing that there is such a large and active support base. Looking forward to the build pics and once again, Welcome to your great new adventure as a MAX owner.
