Rostock Max - Stalled at Home Position in Repetier

Hello All,
I am a little concerned here. I have made it through the entire build, no problems.... But I got to page 224 in the manual and after my Rostock Build passed the X,Y,Z limiter test within Repetier the problems began. When I hit the home button instead of the cheapskates going up or down. nothing happens. My LCD screen on the last line now says Home Delta. But the carriages never moved. I double checked the wiring, and settings... and then checked again. What could be going on here?
Thanks!
Noob

I get that quite often, especially after using the extruder buttons in Repetier Host. Just disconnect, turn the printer off and back on again, then reconnect and it will work itself out.

Thank you for htis, but I tried this too. The motors are simply not responding in anyway to the commands issued by Repetier. In the log field I can see the commands rattling off, and I can see the LED processor light on Rostock thinking about what it has just been told, but absolutely nothing happens. No movement on any axis, no noise, nothing...
I am using Repetier .92, Windows 8, and have followed instructions to a tee.
Any suggestions? Thank you so much.

Are the motors stiff or lose? I.e can you move the carriages up or down?

Hey Teoman,
I can move the carriages up and down. Just as before the unit was ever turned on. So I would say they are loose.

Hnm. Seems like your motors are not getting any power.
If you are certain the software is ok, check the power conncector of the rambo. Maybe a wire got disconnected while you were stuffing it back in to the bay.
If you have a multimeter you could try checking the fuses on the rambo.
Also. On the lcd, under printer settings there is "home towers". If you press that thrn we can be sure it is not a computer issue.

I agree. The last line on the LCD says ROSTOCK MAX read. Where is this home towers button located?

The steppers are not getting power. So I am guessing this is stemming from a problem on Rambo

The big 15 fuse is intact, but it looks to me like there are at least two other smaller micro fuses on the board. WIll check these out.

If you have a multimeter, check that all of the power pins on the right side are getting power.
How did you determine that they are in tact? With an Ohmmeter?

Yes... I checked the resistance on the large fuse, and pulled the two smaller ones. One of the little guys is bad or blown. I am fairly certain this is the problem. Before pulling them I was checking the voltage across the fuse, and when I placed the probes on the board I could hear the motors trying to activate. As far as checking the power pins.. what should I be looking for reading wise? Thanks for following up with me!!

I am concerned about what happened to this fuse... Not bragging, but my wiring/soldering is immaculate. I don't know where to get replacement fuses either, any suggestions?

This was recently covered.
Unfortunately i have no idea why the fuse burned. On the wires, you should check that they are properly fastened. And you can also check the voltage across the wires.
Although i have not needed to replace a fuse for myself (yet) i believe they can be purchased from Ultimachine. (Google the guys who make the RAMBo).
To save yourself now, you can solder a normal car type blade fuse on to the burnt fuse. If you search the forum you should be able to find a couple of images. You can go to your car and steal the cigarette lighter's fuse (or cigar lighter if it is a luxury automobile

) from the engine bay fuse box, it should be 10A if i remember correctly. There should also be spares there.
Lets see pictures of your immaculate wiring

I am not sure but you may be able to swap the fuses to check that that is indeed the problem. But as i said, you must check what that other fuse will disable and if they are the same size and rating. I am not that familiar with the rambo yet.

WIsh it was that easy... I got the parts on order check these things out... 5A fast trip... They are about the size of a grain of rice:

The fuses are available at mouser.com and digikey.com.
The original 5A fuse is
LittleFuse 0451005.NRL
The 10A version is
LittleFuse 0451010.NRL
The 10 AMP can be used in place of the 5 amp with no problems. The Rambo was designed to handle the 10Amp fuses.
