Hi all,

I have to print the part that you can see in image attached.
there is no flat bsae for the part and I am a bit lost. how can I print a part like this ? sizes are 2.5cm*2.5cm*2.5cm

can it be done?

Turning on support in your slicer will probably allow such a print but you will have a lot of support material to clean off the print.

It could probably be done, you would probably need support and cleaning up the final print will be a bitch.
It's hard to tell from the picture what the structure of the interior, if you can orient it in such a way as to limit the over hangs to be 60 degrees or less, you can probably get a decent print without support.
FDM is really not the best process for a print like this, SLS would have no issues, depending on the internal geometry you might be able to get away with SLA

I agree with Polygonhell, maybe not FDM for this. My first thought is, why in one piece? I know we have the ability to print very complex geometries. I too like the "all at once cool factor " but beating my head against a wall trying to do it seems counter-productive. Sometimes I think it's better to deconstruct a piece if you can. Can it be cut into pieces, printed and assembled? Is it just one "module/shape" over and over? IMO, unless you can do easily removable support, it's sometimes better/quicker just to glue cleanly printed pieces together. Good luck with it and post pics of your results:)

Without cutting it in half, or using supports, I dont' think that's going to print well :/

Looks cool though, you'll have to show it off once it's done.
