Issues with rear tower

Post by SirLinhart »

I started up a new print recently and noticed that I was getting curling with light overhangs. I had recently moved the machine into the corner of the room with a sliding glass door, so I thought the cold from that was mucking up the prints. I built a cardboard box around the machine, did not help. Modified my settings to use a lower temp, with more fan, no help. Was also having adhesion issues. Re-leveled the machine and found out every axis was .2mm too high. How does that happen? Anyways re calibrated and fixed adhesion, still having issues with curling and general inability to do overhangs. Also noticed that corners are no longer clean. Started going through the make magazine tests and found that the issue has to do with the rear skate/arm. It seems to slide ok and the skate does not wobble, not sure what else to check.

pics: (Note that the arrow indicates the front of the machine).

This is PLA at 185-190C with .15 layer height on a .35 nozzle sliced in Simplify3D.

I have no answers about why your printer is acting like that but I would try a different slicer such as Cura and see the results.
