mach 3 where to start!

not familar withit at all, tried fooling around with it and cant get anything to happen. only plugged in two motors and all ports except the y port makes the motors whine. Iguess my first question is how to get them to move?

thanks, finally got it set up with some help but, when i use hot keys and even some other times with cycle start, the steppers,"skip" they try to move but dont,they start to move then skip, if i want the y axis to move, i gotta repeatedly press the button for a while to get it to get to where i want it , any ideas?

nvrmind, got it , they were moving too fast
