In the previous thread, I noted I blew the heating resistor...

Need something I can get fast an cheap...Amazon Prime is ideal.

Just found a thing on Cartridge Heaters vs. Resistors. Seems easier for a novice to switch out fast...no?...with better precision and life. ??

Is one easy to swap in? Attach to existing resistor leads? Is it a bad idea? And a very key question...what size?

Your choice of cartidges are 24V and will not work on a Rostock.
You need this type: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-PCS-Reprap-12 ... 339286131c

You would remove the resistors and insert ONE of the cartridges into ONE of the holes on the hotend , the other hole would be empty.
Add the appropriate connectors and you will be back in business.

What, Eagle, you want to be safe? You don't want 3 second heat up times? You don't want a fire hazard risk? That sounds crazy to me!
