50 micron layers with stock .5mm nozzle

Yeah, that's 0.05mm.

I know a smaller nozzle would work better, but I wanted to test it out.

I found a faceless "angel" statue on thingiverse, I added my mother's head instead (scanned with my iphone and 123d catch).

That is looking pretty good. You have the bulk of it sorted out.

There is some blobbing in places but those could be tweaked out.


How long did it take?
When on mobile I am brief and may be perceived as an arsl.

Hmm that was maybe 4 hours. I've found 0.07mm is better. but 0.1mm is basically the same. I've yet found a reason to do anything less than .1mm with the 0.5mm nozzle.

That looks great! The substitution of your Mother's head was done so well I would not have noticed.
