PLA retraction settings below .1mm

Post by bot »

Hi everyone. I've been trying to get the finest detail possible with the stock .5mm nozzle. I've got great prints at 70 micron layers. There are two small issues with the prints remaining that I'm trying to resolve.

I'm getting bad (what I think are) retraction artifacts between the arms, but barely any stringing between the legs.

Also, I'm getting those ridges, which appear higher on the model, where the print speeds would have been greater.

Do you think both issues are related to print speed? The lines, I believe, are from fluctuating nozzle temperature (I've seen that before in other prints). Maybe it's fluctuating due to too many speed changes?

Here is my Cura profile for this print:

I do not think that it is the case with your print, but if you do not have your extruder calibrated, the extra extrusion builds up and when the nozzle raises it dumps the pressurized filament.
When on mobile I am brief and may be perceived as an arsl.

Three things I would try, slower speeds, shorter retraction length and slower retraction speeds.

Excellent suggestions. I'll verify the extruder settings. It could be that the filament is slightly OD. The retraction length is a great suggestion. I had noticed increasing the length actually made things worse!

Thanks.
