I missed the November contest, but it seems to me that December is a perfect time for a contest...

Is there going to be one?

Or Christmas gifts, I've been making those like crazy lately. It's beginning to look like a very plastic Christmas.

I made these as stocking stuffers for the kids. It's a labyrinth maze puzzle container. I printed the inner tube section using Green ABS and the outer tube using red ABS. I'll hide some $$ inside and then have fun watching them try to solve the puzzle to get to the gift inside. They are printed without support and they turned out awesome. I've taken one to work and placed it on the counter and let people try to work their way through it. Some solved it quickly, and others...weeeelll....:D

You can find the files for the puzzle on Thingiverse here:

I'm not sure what the contest will be so I'll tentatively throw this in as an entry (in case it's a gift thingy).

Here's some pics. Enjoy and have fun!

Very cool!
I've been looking for a puzzle for small gifts for co-workers. I think this should be good.

Thanks for posting it!

Do you just slam the parts together to close it, or do you just work the puzzle to close?

You work the puzzle to close it. It's easier because you can SEE the path to close it. Not so when you're opening it. :-)

I have a few smaller relatives that I could drive crazy by saying theres a $20 bill or something cool in one. Probably would end up with a couple of these being thrown at me..

kid: What's this piece of paper? I thought you said there was a $20 bill in here.

you: That IS a bill for $20 to pay for the plastic and labor to make that.

Well I tried printing a set. But my RMv2 is still too inaccurate and the parts just won't fit together same as every other thing I've tried to make so far. The amount of sanding required is just too much to bother with.

It is very cool. I printed it. For some reason my orion froze with 20 layers left to go (I printed at .4 thickness) but it still works.

Kitecraft, what is your e steps per mm set at? I found that the default 92.4 works better for me than what was suggested in the manual, which I think was 92.65?

Well I won't enter my Christmas Checker board with candy cane pieces for December, That would just be a re-hash of Halloween ;) but just to show it off here is a peek

But if you want to print your own for the holidays,

Instead I will enter my fathers Christmas present. He has an old toy car made of metal and the wheels have deteriorated. So I printed him a new set of wheels for Christmas. I even got him white walls!!.

Great printing on the wheels!
Your father should love them on his old car!

Thanks!, the white wall is a PLA insert into the black ABS tire. I was pretty happy that it just snapped right in.
