Gap when mounting in Yellowjacket quickchange....

Post by matter68 »

I have the stock end for my Rostock Max V2 and an E3Dv6 end as well. I have two yellowjacket mounts to put them in. Everything was pretty straight forward with regards to putting the yellowjackets together then I came to the the hot ends. When I try to install the stock Rostock part, with the spacer and the mounting nut tightened all the way down, I'm still left with 3.37 mm of up and down movement of the assembly. When it comes to the E3Dv6 I had to dremmel out the mount and got a perfect fit sideways, but still have an 8.23 mm gap allowing for the up and down movement of that piece as well. Also, how do I secure the E3Dv6 into the YJ assembly? I haven't been able to find any good photos of just that area of the mount.

What are you using to clamp the hot-end in place?
I've been using the leftover triangle parts from my original TrickLaser JHead mount.

For the original hot end just the nut and spacer from the original install. For the E3rd nothing yet, that's something else Im trying to sort out. I'm surprised it didn't come with some sort of holdown.
