Help Needed! - New Build: Power Issues Part 2

Post by beilmandesign »

My Max 2 new build was shutting down when I turned on either of the heats. SeeMeCnc said it was a power supply issue and shipped me a new one. I installed it tonight, but now the LCD display comes on for a second then goes dark. The rambo fan and status light are on in that split second.

Any ideas?

Did you create a short circuit when you installed the new psu?

I opened up the power supply and found some bridging across the ac input contacts. I cleaned this up and separated all the component leads that seemed to be touching. The p/s still will not stay on.

If you cut your main atx connector off be sure that you connect the brown wire to any orange wire. It is needed to prevent the issue I noticed in the 1st line above. JJ at SeeMeCNC alerted me to this and now all is well.

Please tell me where the manual tells you to cut off the whole ATX connector.

It didn't tell me to desolder all of the extra wires from the power supply but I did :)
