"Killed" status on LCD even while idle? (R. MAX v2)

I've got a freshly build rostock max v2 and I'm working my way through calibration.
I have a confusing behavior I can't make sense of. When I leave the printer on overnight (merely on at room temperature), the next morning the printer shows up as "Killed". This is relatively consistent. It might be due to the fact that I have used a different power supply (Corsair CX750M), but I cannot remember if the original power supply exhibited this problem. I also cannot figure out if this is just a warning, and it hasn't caused me problems yet (I haven't even attempted a print). Most forum members report this being a reason their print was terminated, so it worries me!
Also, this forum member indicated that flashing EEPROM solved his problem.

I don't know what is meant by flashing EEPROM. Could someone teach me that tidbit so I could try it?
