Beginner Questions

Hi all,
I am a beginner in 3d Printing but willing to learn about. I would like to buy one and I am having few questions:
First I did not find any spec for H-1.0 , nothing about resolution. Where should I look for? Is it similar with any RepRap model? If yes, which model?
Where can I buy an assembled and tested H-1 or H-1.1? I only found the complete kit for H-1.0. At PracticalMachinst.com is advertised as “H-1 Assembled, Tested: $450” and that is what I am looking for. Couldn’t find it.
Is Mach 3 included in the kit? Does the printer work without it?

Thank you, guys. Hope this will help me to take the right decision.

Hi balota,

The H1 is based of the RepRap Huxley. The resolution of any RepRap printer (including the H1) is up to the amount of time/effort you are willing to spend on calibrating/modifying your printer. I have read on forums some people printing at 0.2mm layer height. It might even be possible to get lower than that. That being said, the H1 can print at 0.3mm layer height with relative ease from what I understand (I am still busy getting my printer up and running).

The H1 can be controller via Mach 3 or via an Arduino based control board (RAMPS, Printrboard etc). There are some difference between the two and you will need to decide what will work for you. Mach 3 allows real time control over your printer, where an Arduino based control board offers mobility (No need to carry a desktop pc around).

Both have their advantages/cons. I have the Mach based setup and I found it quite easy to setup (apart from the few issues I have been experiencing)
SeeMeCnc does offer a complete H1 kit that includes a Mach 3 license. Just check the available options when selecting it.

Hey there Balota, John here. We don't offer assembled machines anymore, that was a one time thing for our first indiegogo campaign. The shipping was ridiculous on the assembled machines. If you're interested in one of our kits, ask away! We sell kits with RAMPS electronics for control, as well as parallel port control setups for either EMC2 linux CNC or Mach3 software to control them.

Thanks!
