Rebreather Heads Up Display mount

My rebreather (an Inspiration Classic) is an oldie but a goodie, apart from the electronics which are all packing it in. As part of a recent upgrade I needed a way of mounting the heads up display and of tidying hose and cable runs to the mouthpiece.
FreeCAD and Rostock Max to the rescue
Not terribly complicated in the end but getting things to match up, to grip the hose without crushing the airway and to generally just all behave took a bit of work.
Very pleased with the result.

I love a real-world functional print!
Nice looking prints too

It's funny how different people use their printers. Mine is another tool alongside the lathe and mill, and it's only used for making functional parts or prototypes. Not one ornate piece done on it yet.
Some people seem to only ever print improvements for their printer and puff pieces. I'm not judging - it's not for me but, if that's what tickles you, then great!

The proof is in the pudding, so they say. And, though it took a few iterations, they work perfectly. The hose clips allow the corrugated hose to stretch and compress, allowing the cables and small hose to slide without popping out. The HUD clamp keeps things right where I need to see them, firmly in place but not so tight I can't adjust it or things get broken when I collect a bit of reef to the side of the head on a surgy day.

Very nice
I can fully appreciate the necessity of that piece.

Nice design. I loved my inspiration until I realised it was probably going to kill me one day and took up flying instead

Lol one step better than parachuting, I guess
I know what you mean though, mine's had a few attempts in the year or so I've owned it. Mum (aka mom) wasn't impressed when I bought it and announced that the chances of me dying in a motorcycle accident had just halved...
