rockets

Post by wildideas1 »

Ok new heat bed and up early on sat so I printed 4 rockets for my son and we then had fun shooting them off, 1st one went about 250' and came back down about 75' from us took about 15 to find spent motor casing but we like to keep our park clean. video of 1st launch
2nd one went around 500 but we lost site of rocket due to only 4" tall and Black in color only smoke trail was visible. that one took 30 min to find. other 2 rocket will wait till later this week wind picked up to around 10knots. pics and videos here also.

today I plan to build a compressed air launcher instead of Estes fuel/burn style due to hot temps and fire dangers in Colorado ban was lifted but want to be safe and have fun so i will modify rockets for air launch capabilities.

Oh yeah! Rockets are a must once you get your printer running. How'd that big one in the front of the table do? Is that the 500' one?

Nice , I hope I can get prints like that soon, Try looking into some 12g co2 canisters that would propel them pretty far . By the way, what speed are you printing at?
