.5mm nozzle tip broke during print
.5mm nozzle tip broke during print
Have had my Rostock Max for around 2 weeks. Today some time during a 5 hour print the nozzle tip broke off, just to the point that now the tip opening is around 1.75mm (filament just runs out). I wondered if anyone has ever had this happen? This is my 4th printer, and I have seen other things happen but nothing like this. I can only assume it was a defective nozzle but am open to any feed back. Just ordered 4 replacements but kind of disappointed that the printer will be done for several days.

Wow! Never even heard of this happening. Well you've got yourself a volcano nozzle now. :/
I loved my Rostock so much I now sell them in Oz

Yeah super Volcano, the hole is 1.83mm.. at least I am laughing about it

Haha I'm glad you're laughing cause I was. That thing is huge.
Funny, though, I WAS thinking about drilling my blank out super huge to make super quick low res parts. Can you set your nozzle diameter to whatever you measure and try and print something?
I think you'll have to go VERY slow on the feedrate.
