Taulman 618...success without garolite or special materials?

So I have a customer on 3DHubs who wants me to print him some parts out of natural (solid, not translucent) white nylon that he can dye himself, so I ordered some Taulman 618 last night since its opacity is higher than 645 or Bridge.

I have never printed any Taulman nylons, but have heard horror stories about bed adhesion and warpage. I do have plenty of experience printing with blue trimmer line nylon and it works out just fine on my machine with 3M permanent glue stick directly applied to the glass plate with a 65C bed temp.

Has anyone had any success with Taulman 618 without a special build platform material?

645 and Bridge work on that. 645 has more warping and it works on that glue still. I go around 90C but thats just me.

I thought about Bridge and 645, but decided to go with 618 for the opacity and price (two 1lb spools for $39.99 w/ free Amazon Prime 2-day shipping).

Hopefully I can make it work without too much fan fare.

Glue stick is fine, 60-80C bed.
The issue I always had with it was even if I could keep the part stuck to the bed once I pulled it off the bed I could see it was warped, this was particularly prevalent with large flat parts, printing a 50x20x10 box for example, I could get it to stick, but after removal the part would be bowed upwards. Bridge doesn't have this issue. I haven;t tried trimmer line.

Interesting...notice any differences in amount of warping when changing extrusion temperature or print speed?

Well, just to update everyone...saw success with 260C nozzle temp, 65C bed temp, and Elmer's purple glue stick directly on glass (probably 4 thin applications applied in a cross-hatch pattern). Material was dried in the oven at 175F for about 4 hours.

Small parts w/ brim and trimmed....

and a larger part (100mm circle)...

Those look amazing!

What speeds and layer heights are you using? You ought to consider posting them on slicershare or something like that.

Thanks. Speeds for the small parts was very slow (either 15 or 20mm/s). The large part was 35mm/s.
