Whoa! am I reading that right 128 microstep driver?
And you can fasten it to the back of a NEME 17 motor.
wonder if you can drive it with a Rambo?

Steppers were originally designed to be run in full steps. They're very accurate that way but you only get around 200 steps per revolution.
Then most of us went to half stepping where you power on both coils at the same time in different states that gets you twice as many steps but the torque varies with which step of the sequence you're on. Also, as the coils and drivers aren't exactly identical, the size of the steps will vary coming back into sync every full step.
By fractionally driving the coils you can get as many steps as you want, but you still have the same varying torque and accuracy problems. Always coming back to accuracy on each full step.
