So I'm putting together my h1.1 before the official instructions and thought I'd pass on a tip for anyone else who is currently assembling.
In order for the bar clamps to work properly 100% of the time you must drill out the holes on one side of the clamp. This will allow you to pass the screw through this side first unhindered and then when it bites in to the other side of the clamp it will pinch the two halves together. If it is biting going through both halves it will not pull them together as effectively.

Re: Bar Clamp tip
I had that idea too i just haven't tried it yet. Thanks for the tip!
Re: Bar Clamp tip
I had left everything loose so I didn't think about it until I got to squaring up the table. I couldn't get the darn things to grab the tread rod and linear rails. No that I have that figure out I've got to pull all the other ones back off and drill them out. Oh Well.
Re: Bar Clamp tip
AndGorew,
Did you use all metal bearings for y axis idlers on the front and rear assemblies. I put mine together with the plastic idlers, but I only had two. If I try to put a bearing and an plastic idler on the rear they aren't the same width.

Re: Bar Clamp tip
I had some 1/4 inch ID spacers for bearings left over from another project so thats what i used and if i need to use that bearing somewhere else i have more the same size just layin around in my parts bin
