Greetings all,
My Max kit will be arriving tomorrow, and I'm thrilled to get started on the build. This will be my first 3d printer, and decided to go with the Max for it's price, build envelope, and awesome community. I originally was looking at a Taz 5, but the price was a little more than I was willing to spend.
A little background on me. I was a graphic designer for the first half of my career, so I do have a lot of experience with several different design software packages I see used on here. I like to tinker with Arduino, can do some coding, and enjoy a good beer now and then. (not always in that order).
Upgrades ordered: Mattercontrol touch (hoping this works ok)
Upgrades considered: TrickLaser Dampers, TrickLaser carbon arms, and a larger/better PSU, e3d v6 hotend
I am concerned about problems with the stock hotend thermistor setup, and wondered if I should do the screw-in thermistor upgrade with heater cartridge. Any thoughts around this upgrade would be appreciated.
I hope to provide value for the community. Thanks everyone.

All the upgrades you mentioned are worthwhile and I would certainly recommend the screw in thermistor, much less hassle.taulpaul wrote:Greetings all,
