Here is my setup I've been running for a little while.

Its loosely based off of various things I've found, including BenTheRighteous' extruder top mount.

I may have my top plate on upside down or something - I believe it is how the manual is written though. One hole had to be drilled out - an existing screw hole for the second extruder bowden to pass through.

Re: Top mount dual extruders
looks great! Maybe it's best solution one could use when only 2 extruders are needed
3D printing is magic!
Sorry my engrish :-/ you could PM me in Russian.

Very nice. And keeps the steppers out of the enclosure and heat.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Top mount dual extruders
What do you use to control your two steppers. Is there an optimal software that allows you to turn on and off one or the other steppers? Just haven't run into that yet.

What do you mean? The firmware and slicer take care of the steppers and heaters.
Firmware setup: http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php ... 942#p60942
There are 2 stepper inputs for extruders on the RAMBO board and 2 hot end heater outputs as well as 4 thermistor inputs.

I was wondering if the software existed to control the extruders such that based on the layer or the specific aspec of the print you automatically extrude the filament of choice.JFettig wrote:What do you mean? The firmware and slicer take care of the steppers and heaters.

Re: Top mount dual extruders
yes, most slicers have the ability to do some form of that dependent on what you input.
