E3D V6 mount question (tricklaser)

Hello all... first post so thanks for the awesome forum :).

I've recently picked up and built a Rostock Max V2... went together smoothly but now I'm down to installing the hot end and have an issue. I intend to use an E3D V6 that i have laying around and have bought the tricklaser groove mount to attach it (http://www.tricklaser.com/J-Head-Groove ... JHGMNT.htm). it doesn't seem like there's is any obvious way that this would go together, and the shipment from tricklaser included no instructions, hardware or anything. Does anyone have experience installing one of these that could point me in the right direction? Thanks!

james

Did you get the special E3D head version?

Should have come with 3 long screws.

I did get the E3D version. It didn't come with any hardware, just 2 laser cut wood pieces. I also ordered the 40mm carbon standoffs, so they were included as well.

I think I may have figured it out, though. The groove mount was loose which confused me (grooves is much later than the 'slot' it slides into in the mount. It seems as though maybe I need to use the top small triangular piece to 'sandwich' the hot end down onto the groove. When I do this it seems to work great. I'll try to get a pic when I get back from the hardware store. Thanks :)

You should have recieved (3) 4-40thread X 1" screws to clamp the small triangle piece down onto hot end. I apologize if you did not. My shipping person must have missed it. pm me or email [email protected] with your order number and I will mail you some right away.

No worries at all... not sure if i didn't receive them or just didn't see them in the package and accidentally threw them away :). In any case, all it took was a trip to Lowe's and everything is squared away. Got everything mounted up now and after a bit of tribulation getting it all calibrated it's making the first print as we speak. It's beautiful... probably the best first print of any machine i've ever had. Still just using default 'standard' setting for now.. but the first later, layer alignment etc all look spectacular so far. This thing rocks!
