Does anyone have any suggested settings for SeeMe Midnight Black ABS. I'm have a hard time dialing it in. If you wouldn't mind you could send me your settings.

Thanks!

I've found lower temps are working better around 215C with 80C bed. 25% fan (3 fan with bottomless shroads). 40 mm/s speeds for premiters and supports.

This stuff seems really soft it's more like PLA. IDK, I'm pretty new at printing.

Thanks.

The filament keeps making a cracking/popping sound (kind of like a campfire) occasionally when it's coming out of the nozzle.

That means it has moisture inside it.

The sad fact is that most filament comes from the factory wet, no matter how hard they try to package it dry, this is probably in part due to the water bath it has to pass through. Set it in an oven at around 150C (300F) for an hour or two with convection on. In the future, store filament between prints in a dry box with a desiccant in it.

As to settings, I usually print ABS, including SeeMeCNC's black, at around 235C, with a 100C bed onto glue stick and very rarely have issues with it coming loose. 4.5mm retraction with a .075mm Z hop on retraction. 60mm/s print speed with a 40mm/s first layer

Thanks for the advice. I don't have a convection oven, but ill figure something out. What retraction speed do you use?

Just remember unless you both have calibrated your Hot end temp with a thermocouple and a multimeter your temps could actually be closer than it sounds. Until I claibrated mine I was running ABS in the 215-220 range because that is where it worked after calibrating I'm in the 225-235 range....just sayin'

Thanks Neptune. Do you have a link to how to calibrate the hot end?

I use 235C on the head and 105C on the bed with hair spray.
Great results.
Just ordered a new spool actually.
