Okay, so this is my issue. After printing the first and second fan casings as well as connecting the fans and recalibrating the PID for the extruder, for some reason I can not get the extruder to reach temperatures any higher than 215C. Please tell me, what could I be doing wrong? Also I have the Rostock Max V2

What is your PID drive Max set to? If its 205 thats too low, bump it to 230.

The other thing is power resistors for the heating element aren't that reliable. Heater cartridges (pretty cheap tbh) are much more robust and reliable. They also heat faster and deliver a more stable temp. If your resistors ever fail I'd strongly recommend you replace them with one cartridge. Gene has a nice guide to upgrade the stock hotend in the Rostock MAX V2 sub forum.

#1 reason for not reaching target temp after adding fan is airflow over bottom of the hot end. Wrap some kapton tape around the block that contains the resistors and thermistor. This will insulate them from the airflow. Then run PID tuning again.
