Another Error!!!

Post by avangelking »

I want to say, thank you all for your help with every situation I post, and every print I make. By time I get things exact, I will finally get to pay back my knowledge gained forward to those that are in my current position now.

On this print, I am having a "BRIDGING" issue (Please check the 2nd and 3rd image). In the images below, you will see exactly what I am referring too.

I'm thinking you've got over extrusion. Based on the ridges on the flat sections and the ripples in the walls.

I'm not sure what others have advised you, but have you checked your e-steps and done some extrusion multiplier tuning?
I loved my Rostock so much I now sell them in Oz :)

I just took a look at your other thread on first layer issues. Combined with this one it very well could be overextrusion. Raising your Z height would just help mask an overextrusion issue by giving it someplace to go. Believe Doc Hackney has some tips in one of his sticky posts that include dialing in extrusion. Get that figured out and then you may have to go back and drop your Z zero.

This image is after I calibrated my extrusion issue from my first post, and I lifted the z zero a bit, but I will try lifting that a little more. My other issue it when the extruder goes over open spaces, it is never a straight line. How do I fix that? If you look in the second and third image, you can see what I am referring to. Thank you again.

What's your layer height set to? or can you screenshot your slicer settings?

Gotcha, it looked like thick layers just wasn't sure if it was the camera or actual settings.

So what should change to fix that?

well, you can try printing at .2 layer height. But might need to figure out what's causing the nozzle to scrape other layers. Either mechanical calibration could be off or burrs on the nozzle, gunk hanging off the nozzle etc. Something is causing those jaggies on the flat section of picture #3.

If the nozzle is digging into the lower layer then you'll have a harder time with bridges as-well.

Keep this topic going for your printing issues, but read this topic and try the calibration files. http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=7361
