I am using mattercontrol slicer and sometimes it will do a long non-printing move but it does not command a retraction. The extruder leaks a little during the move and can leave a little trail or a small glob at the landing spot. When it does use retraction it works just fine. I have turned retraction on everywhere I could find it. I also tried cura and it does the same Is there a retraction setting I may have missed? Do I need to adjust something so that my extruder does not leak? I',m printing SeeMeCNC ABS at 229 commanded but the extruder usually reports around 227 while actually printing.
Questing 2.
Is there a setting to just turn on the layer fan for bridging in any of the slicers that come with mattercontrol?

Re: Long moves with no printing but no retraction either
Hey Dale,
A little bit of ooze just before the prints starts is pretty normal. Since I always print with a brim, it never affects the actual print.
Mattercontrol has a bridging fan speed setting under Filament -> Cooling. Just select the Advanced settings to see it.

Just to be clear I'm not talking about before it prints. It is printing and moving from one location to another with a long move but sometimes the slicer does not command a retract for various reasons. In this case the ooz can build op on the landing site.gestalt73 wrote:Hey Dale,

I know about the bridging fan speed setting and have it set to 100% but my layer fan did not come on. It does come on if I turn it on manually with the Mattercontrol control widgets. So I know it can come on. However I did have max fan speed set to 0 in the fillament cooling advanced settings so I have changed that and will give that a try.
