Dead Rambo?

Post by MARSTECH »

I am in the process of setting up my Rostock Max V2. I had put the firmware on the Rambo and was just trying to make sure everything was in order. I touched the hot end with a set of pliers, and suddenly everything turned off. I tried turning it back on, but nothing came on the lcd and the led didn't light up. I know you normally shouldn't mess with things when they are on, but because I wasn't touching the heating resistors or anything with a current, I thought it would be okay. Any ideas on what might have caused this to happen. I think I might have blown a fuse by somehow shorting the hot end wires, but I don't know if that would be plausible. Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

You probably burned a fuse.

You need to order some more or if you search the forum you can use a different fuse for a temporary solution.

Thanks for the response, that's what I thought it was. When replacing a fuse, do you just pull it out with pliers, or do you have to desolder anything?

If you have a multi meter you can check which one is bad.

Thanks for the help. I switched the F2 fuse with the F3 fuse and it worked. I ordered the new fuse.
