Trying to get my ducks in a row for the Smoothieboard install and electronics have never been my strong suit.

What I'm not positive on is the compatibility of the Yellow Jacket quick connect board.
If I'm understanding the wiring diagram correctly, the 12v positive is constant to the heater and both fans & Leds. The ground is switched(or grounded) in order to complete the connection on for each circuit. Mine is wired like method C, with jumpers soldered under the circuit board. http://www.themakerhive.com/FTP/jassper ... E_Main.pdf


I'm not finding the documentation for the smoothiboard except for a few pictures that makes me think it's sort of the same way.


Anyone have both mods up and running?

Did you still need help with this? The Smoothieboard connects to a hot end the same way a RAMBo would. Whatever is going on upstairs with the Yellowjacket doesn't change how you wire up to the Smoothieboard. If I'm not mistaken, it even uses the same connectors.

Keep in mind that you will need THREE pairs of yellow and black wires from the PSU. They have to be plugged in at THREE different locations (vs. the RAMBo, where you just shove them all into one connector).

I haven't made it this far yet because of the dead board. But knowing that I don't have a re-wire the the yellow jacket board is a big relief.
I just wasnt sure if the smoothie used a common positive like the rambo.

That's correct, you shouldn't have to change the Yellow Jacket wiring for the Smoothie board. The Smoothie and Rambo both use a common positive and pulse the ground side.

Which reminds me, If anyone out there is using a board that does use a common ground and pulses the positive side, all you really have to do on the Yellow Jacket is flip the polarity so the LEDs light and your fans spin, the heater on the hotend shouldn't care what the polarity is.
