Belt issue with rostock max v2

Exactly how tight should the belts be on this thing? I pulled them to the dimensions stated in gene's guide but when I compare them to the tightness on my Orion they seem to be super loose. Also, when I move the effector head around on its own, it cant hold itself up - it will sag from it own weight. I think it is affecting my prints, more pics to come when I return home but here is a sample:

I had a huge mess of spaghetti on the build plate when I woke up this morning and I am pretty sure its related to the belts, I will post the pics in a bit. But until then any help is appreciated, thanks

EDIT: spilled my spaghetti :/

The photo above doesn't indicate any kind of mechanical issue at all. A little slicer tweaking is all it looks like.

yeah but why is that I pulled the belts to the lengths indicated in your guide but they are still significantly looser than those on my orion?

They'll feel looser even at the same tension because they are longer.
Most people over tension them in part because they are so long and don't feel tight, which puts stress on the stepper bearings, which can cause missed steps, and I guess premature wear on the stepper.
All your really looking for is to take out any backlash, you can usually see it if you listen to the direction change and watch the belts, but print something round if it's round the belts are fine.
