Repetier-Server. Is it any good?
I've been looking at installing Repetier-Server onto a machine an setting up the whole thing. Has anyone tried it or is currently using it? If so, how is it?
Re: Repetier-Server. Is it any good?
I ran it on my Banana Pro with Raspbian for a while, I really liked how the interface is set up, the ability to make live eeprom changes remotely, etc. I printed lots of small parts but when it came to longer printers, I had lots of failure. I still haven't figured out what exactly it is but it had been getting all kinds of communication problems. I always had USB communication errors so part of me wonders if its the USB controller on the Rambo.
I've done a few prints from the SD card with it plugged in and so far haven't had any issues.
The most annoying thing is when a print fails for whatever reason, it leaves the hot end on.
I've also had it switch from extruder 1 to extruder 2 randomly and continue to print - even though nothing comes out, it just stays hot and the second extruder just eats through the filament because its cold.

I also have the banana pro, it has a strong processor and everything on it is / should be fast but on prints where there are lots of moves it starts getting errors in communication and it randomly pauses and nozzle dribble kind of ruins the print.
While / if it worked it was perfect. I could upload prints to it and print them without getting up. Also it counts what you have printed how many times. So it is very convenient for those multi part prints.
I want to set it up to work over the serial port completely bypassing the usb but have not found time.

When on mobile I am brief and may be perceived as an arsl.
