Giza Freezup

I'm a novice at this with an Orion printer, 0.83 firmware. I downloaded a pyramid model (Giza_main.stl) from Thingiverse, sliced it using Cura and printed it in PLA. The print unceremoniously stopped at 79%. So I ran the model through Meshmixer, which "fixed" several problems. Printing it again, it stopped at 79%. It turns the build platform and extruder off, but leaves the steppers on. When I hit "Home All" it stops about six inches from the endstops.

Anyone have an idea what is going on?

Thanks!

Are you printing off SD or over USB from a PC? If the latter, does 79% approximate the elapsed time that corresponds to a sleep or hibernate timer on the computer?

That's a good thought, but I'm running off the SD card.
Thanks

If the USB cable is still connected to the computer, it can still cause interuptions if the computer goes to sleep, especially if you are using mattercontrol.

.83 brach is really old. I'd grab the latest from SeeMe if I were you, the older versions have issues like you've noticed.

This post is in the wrong subforum, it really should be in the Orion or general troubleshooting subforum.

I'll see about upgrading the software.
Wrong forum indeed. I don't even know how I would have gotten here.

Thanks!
