What is the Lounge?

The definition of the Lounge sub-forum is as follows:

General hangout discussion area for other non-printing stuff

However some do not agree with this definition.

The point of posting the the Topic Our Military Men and Women was to increase traffic on this forum
which was slowly becoming less used. To that end the posting was successful but I do agree that it
was time to close the topic, it was becoming too toxic and what I thought could turn out to be a friendly discussion
turned out to be much less than that.

I ask that no replies to this message be given and ask that Gene or Michael close this topic also.

It could have been good and started off but there was a lot of opinions that greatly conflicted, starting with minimum wage. I chose not to get involved with my opinions.

I think politics and religion don't belong on this forum. They include a lot of deep set opinions and beliefs that vastly contradict each other and that threatens to cause a rift in the forum. The lounge is for non printing stuff, but I don't think the forum as a whole should include those things, as demonstrated by that thread.

So just don't read the lounge posts if the content offends you.
It is that simple

I am the author of the post Brian, and I ask that it be closed. Too much chance for conflict
but the board will not let me delete it.

Just try and keep the politics and religion out of it, don't wanna split the audience. We all have our own views but it is best if we keep them to ourselves, after all this is a robotics forum, not reddit or dailykos or breitbart or whatever.
